Position: Field Operations Manager


We are a growing self-storage company based in the Southeastern United States. Our goal is to provide great service to our customers and a rewarding culture for our employees.

We are searching for a Field Operations Manager. Our ideal candidate is located in the South Carolina area. The Field Operations Manager reports to the Director of Self Storage Operations and Revenue Management. Primary job responsibilities are hiring, training and developing a knowledgeable and customer service oriented team and the successful oversight of a portfolio self storage facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Multi-Unit Management:

Manages a portfolio of self storage facilities in multiple locations
Conducts periodic facility audits
Conducts regular site visits to review office procedures and organization and inspect facility
Assists in the annual budget process
Assist in the development and implementation of all marketing programs
Enforces and properly implements Policies and Procedures
Recommends and implements cost savings ideas
Oversees incidents occurring at the facilities and ensures proper handling
Revenue Management Growth

Drives sales, training and works closely with on-site staff to increase property revenues, close sales and market the facilities for top performance
Employee Management:

Conducts interviews and evaluates staffing needs compared to site budgets
Recommend hiring, training, termination and disciplinary action of site personnel
Evaluate employee performance, recommend salary increases and administer performance
Ensures all self storage locations are open for business during regularly scheduled hours
Oversees the duties of store personnel in their management of the sites
Requirements

Education / Experience

The incumbent in this position would normally have prior experience in self storage management, as well as 3-5 years of all-around successful business experience selling and delivering an on-going service, emphasizing concern for the customer's convenience and goodwill. High-quality interpersonal relations required in the management of all facilities, involving extensive employee and customer contact.

Qualifications and Requirements

The incumbent must have a basic working knowledge of business administration procedures, financial record-keeping, operating statements, expense estimating, budgeting, computerized systems, general working knowledge of maintenance procedures, etc. Ability to communicate effectively personally and by telephone is required, plus honesty and commitment to task accomplishment are also necessary.
