The North Carolina Self Storage Association is an association that aims to provide its members with quality standards, proper guidance, networking opportunities and credibility for the self storage industry. The association is made up of owner/operators whose facilities range from one unit operators to multiple facility owners with thousands of rental units, as well as associate members that represent vendors that serve the industry as well as those individuals who are interested in getting involved.

  • Networking – Find out what other facilities are doing. They may have encountered the same issues as you and can suggest a solution.
  • Standardized Lease – Save money by using the NCSSA’s attorney-approved lease instead of hiring someone to create one for you.
  • Auction Checklist – Ensure that you are in full compliance of the NC lien law by following the steps on the auction checklist.
  • Convention & Tradeshow – Hear about the latest services and products straight from the source! NCSSA members can attend the Southeastern Self Storage Convention & Tradeshow at a discounted member rate.
  • Education Opportunities – Register for a regional training seminar or a webinar to expand your knowledge on topics such as marketing, customer service, auction process, etc.
  • Website – Visit the website to view the many laws, forms, FAQs and other information that is pertinent to the industry. The website also contains a “Members Only” section which houses NCSSA forms, membership list, meeting minutes, legislative updates, legal information and much more industry related information.
  • Auction Postings – Auction postings on the NCSSA website are FREE for members. The auction calendar can be viewed by anyone looking to obtain details about auctions across the state.
  • Legislative Monitoring – The NCSSA retains a lobbyist to monitor legislative issues, discuss possible plans of action and keep the membership informed of current political matters.
  • Newsletter – The NCSSA distributes a bi-monthly newsletter to members to provide information about industry developments at the local, state and national levels. The newsletter keeps members informed of current industry affairs and upcoming events within the association.
  • Property-Casualty Insurance Program – Members of the NCSSA can take advantage of enhanced property-casualty insurance for their facilities and operations—as well as the opportunity to earn a dividend on certain coverages—through an officially endorsed program created with Penn National Insurance. Dividend earned is based on total group premium and claims experience of eligible coverages. As the program grows, dividend potential increases.
  • SSA Affiliation – The NCSSA is an authorized affiliate of the SSA. Because of the affiliation, each NCSSA member receives an annual subscription to the SSA Globe magazine; an annual $50 gift certificate redeemable on registration fees for SSA meetings conferences or publications; eligibility to access and utilize, for an indirect member fee, SSA’s Online Demand Estimator (ODE*SSA 2.0) technology tool by entering the program via SSA website “Members Only” section.
